Can't open in v1.0.1 in Ubuntu 12.04. Immediately crashes

I just learned some of the ins and outs of this program after using Windows based CAD software for a couple years. Great software with LibreCAD. Like it a lot so far!

However, tonight I ran into some sort of bug where if I save to certain folders it crashes the software. Also when I finally found a location that I could save to without crashing, now as soon as I click open on a file it crashes the program.

Any ideas?

Yes, update to LC v1.0.2 or LC v2.0.0beta2

I did this with the following steps:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:librecad-dev/librecad-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install librecad

And ended up at V2.0.0beta1 and figured well that should at least change something. Still crashes upon opening for some reason.

I did find that if I open the file folder (i.e. Nautilus) and open the file by double clicking, that will work.

But I'd also like to fix the bug. I'm still fairly new to Ubuntu. How would I actually CHOOSE the version that I'd like to run. I'd prefer to use the 1.0.2 or beta2 that you mentioned.

I suggest you switch to daily build

I just switched to the daily build and checked the about on LibreCAD and it's still saying Beta1 for some reason.

Great. I'll watch for it to be published. Is there a way to try the other version you mentioned (i.e. V1.0.2)?

I don't know where to find that version and also how best to install in Ubuntu (12.04).
