I want to contribute

Luis Iván Cuende
Hi all,

I'm a 16-years old developer, creator of an innovative Linux distribution (http://asturix.com) and I want to contribute with LibreCAD.

I have advanced Qt skills and I code C++ well. I also have a spanish native level so I can translate too.

I'm looking forward to know where my help is needed.

Best regards,
Luis Iván Cuende

Hi Luis,

It's very kind of you to offer help, and any help is welcome.

As you may already know, our developer Rallaz is also from Spain. Translation may not be a priority for you, considering the much needed programming skills from your side.

Our source code repository locates at:

https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD

You may fork and send in pull requests.

You are welcome to work on anything at your own preference, and some milestones in my mind for the development version(targeting 2.0.0):

1, enhance/clean up plugin support:

src/plugins/

2, enhance/clean up command line support:

src/cmd/

3, improve the GUI part. For example, some ideas like:

https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/issues/217

Please note that the list is incomplete and not meant in an order or significance/priority.

To get familiar with the code base, you may also try bug fixing or feature requests of our trackers:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=342582

If you have a sourceforge account, we can set it for the project trackers. If direct write access to git repository is preferred, also let us know.

Thank you and welcome to board!

Regards,

Dongxu

Hi Luis,

Some random thought for a Qt master.

If possible, could you have a look at this bug report:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3473466&group_id=342582&atid=1433844

bug ID: 3473466

I ported from QWorkspace to QMdiArea, and introduced many bugs including the said one.

Please review and fix all Mdi related part ( qc_applicationwindow, qc_mdiwindow).

Thanks,

Dongxu

Hi dxli, Rallaz.

I'll start with the bug report you said and with some UI improvements.

I'll be able to code LibreCAD around 1 hour per week but I know that all the help is welcome in free software projects!

Best regards,
Luis Iván Cuende

Luis,

No problem, many bugs only need one line fixes.

Happy hacking!
