Layer List Table Column Widths

electrosteam
Hi, LC 2.1.2 on Lubuntu 18.04.1, is running nicely without any operational problems.

But, since I upgraded from Lubuntu 17.10 to 18.04, the layer list table seems to occupy a considerable width (25%) of the screen.
I can reduce the width, but then have to scroll sideways to get to the various columns as the columns widths for visible, locked, etc remain the same as the overall width is reduced.

A search reveals an an acknowledged issue here, and it is apparently being worked on.

Are there any possible workarounds ?
Is it possible to re-order the columns ? Visibility and name adjacent for instance.

Hello John,

I run LC (v2.2.0-rc1) on Linux (Debian/Cinnamon).  I've adjusted the system's default font size and that reduces the space required to the layer list windows.  Of course it will reduce the font size for just about everything else.  I don't know how to adjust the font size in Lubuntu/LXDE, but for Cinnamon, the font size is adjusted via Settings -> [Appearance] Fonts.

I hope that helps...

Cheers,
Gary

Gary,
That was a wonderful suggestion.
Changed the system default from 11 to 9.
This changes the situation to one that is not optimum, but bearable.
I might even try smaller.
