No way obvious to change the offset measurement

tomGooderham
I am running version 2.1.3 compile date sept 23  2016. running on Windows 10

How do I change the offset value? there is no edit box to allow me to edit the offset measurment? is it hidden in a sub menu somewhere?

Would post an image here - but for some reason in Chrome, it wont let me!

It is still not obvious what you mean with offset measurement.

I assume you are struggling with dimensions?
Look at Options->Current Drawing Preferences.
There you find a tab Dimensions where you can change all kind of dimension settings.

HI What I mean, is that if I have a line, and I want to offset a line off this by 10mm using the offset command... However there is no option when using the offset command to adjust the offset distance!

The Dimensions settings is a general section.

In some screen shots I have seen there is a edit window along side the bylayer drop down menu, which shows distance in the offset command... This I believe is what I am missing, and I would like to know how to get access to that?

What you have seen is the Tool Option toolbar.
You have to check if it is enabled or possibly docked to another place by accident.

Also, the Distance input field appear not before a selection is made.
When you select the entities first, Distance comes immediately with tool activation.
But when nothing is selected, you have to select entities first, press ENTER and then get the Distance input.
