Not acting like described in manual

Norm
I am testing out Librecad. I downloaded the manual.

The trouble that I am having is that the system is not acting
as described in the manual. I have been able to do very little
other than drawing, and I am having trouble shutting that
down. I have not been able to use any of the modify commands.
I do not get any of the pop up menus as a choose an entity.

I am a long time user of AutoCAD, so I am familiar with what
it is supposed to do.

I am on a Win 7 computer, are there any problems in Windows
that would cause these problems?

Hi Norm,

where did you download the manual, can you post the link, please.

Which LibreCAD version are you using on Windows 7?

Can you please specify more detailed where your problems are, on which actions they are?

I am using Win 7.

I got the manual from one of the forum messages, that had a hyperlink
to the manual. I had the manual open and was trying to follow it and
the commands are not working.

I draw a line and then I wanted to try modifying it. I clicked on the line and it bacomes
a dotted line, apparently in a selection mode. I click on it with the left button, and
nothing happens. I try it with the right button and nothing happens.

At no time did any of the popup screens come up as described in the manual.

Let me know what you think.

For some of the modify commands you will need to press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard! particularly after the cursor is displayed as a 'cross' icon.

Select tool bar   Many commands are allowed to be used on multiple entities.
After activating the modify tool to use, the select tool bar appears.
Select one or more entities by clicking them or use one of the select tools.
When finished press ENTER or click the button on the bottom of the tool bar,
with the green arrow heads pointing to the right, to apply your selection.

Always have a look at the command line on the bottom of the LibreCAD window.
There you are normally prompted for the next action LibreCAD expects from you.
