Options - Current Drawing Practices - Not Saved

LC 2.1.2 on Lubuntu 18.04.1.

My printing is only sporadically successful because of the page format not always saving, but sometimes it does.
I often select Portrait, then Save the drawing, print Ok, close, terminate LC,  and then later open the drawing to find the format set back to Landscape.
One would think drawing preferences should save with the drawing.

I haven't set up a particular template yet, and it is not obvious how to do that.
Is this a problem ?

Am I missing something ?
