Suggestion: 'Masking Sidebars'

Might already be in place and I haven't figured out where.

1) I also use gimp, one of the features I find useful for the side bars is the 'TAB' shortcut key to hide ('Mask' per GIMP) the  sidebars to get extra display on screen.

2) Since 'Space' takes you already to the command-line...  could the the 'CTRL-M' be a keyboard shortcut to turn the command line on and off.  Or alternative keyboard shortcut.

Is this a possible add for v3.x?

Can you go ahead to design this feature in full?

If it's specific enough, we can implement it in current version (2).

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Yes, I will write up some notes and post them shortly for the 1st suggestion.

for the 2nd, I was thinking a shortcut key of say  Shift-Ctrl-M to turn the Command line toolbar on and off.  As I use space, others will probably be using the Ctrl-M shortcut to switch focus.
