Tangent Trim Problems

electrosteam
If I construct a tangent to a circle using the dialog box tools, I cannot trim at the tangent point.
There is no intersection point shown.

Tried constructing a circle using defined offset dimensions with the same result.

The solution for me is a multi-line construction using derived intersections.
This gets the job done, but is there a better, correct, way ?
Is there a particular way to construct the tangent such that a later trim will work ?

Still getting good work done,
John

There is a problem defining tangent points properly, as I remember some developer discussions in the forum. I have tried it, and it seems sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Then you get no intersection points. It is known as a bug. Bug fixer welcome.

Dellus,
A simple fix is to draw a random line from anywhere in the drawing to the end of the straight line at the tangent point using Snap on Endpoints.
Then Trim the unwanted part of the circle using the random line as the Limiting Entity, and clean up by erasing the random line.
Works fine, no sweat.

Enjoy Easter,
John
