ctrl + mouse wheel

ravas
Ctrl + mouse wheel to move the vertical scrollbar doesn't seem very useful.
We can pan or (heaven forbid) use the scrollbar directly. ;-]
It becomes a wasted hotkey for people who will choose to use LC without scrollbars.
Let's use it for something that can't already be achieved.

It is common for Ctrl + mouse wheel to be used for faster zooming.

Any other ideas?

Feel free to change it. It's important to minimize potential surprises for new users, as we got lots of GUI complaints from first time users.

Another thing, we talked about but should be useful, a "center at" or "view at" command to center at coordinates specified. For example, "center 0,0" move coordinates 0,0 to the view center.

My own experience shows frustration with view control:

1, zoom-in/out out of reasonable range. Have to use zoom-auto to get back;
2, scrolling/panning out of reasonable range. Have to use zoom-auto to get back.

I don't have a clear idea about the actual sequence to trigger those. It could be certain touchpad events, but it seems to be worst part of LC experience of mine.
