Hi,
Today I installed LibreCAD under Linux Mint Debian Edition (latest release). I have the same problem reported by others i.e. the Help panes remainig empty when I choose Help|Manual. I was wondering, are the LibreCAD help files available somewhere for download? Alternatively: Is it possible to get by using QCad documentation? Otherwise the software appears very good. Thank you. |

You can always use teh QCAD documentation as found here : http://www.qcad.org/qcad/manual_reference/

As I said I'm running the latest release of Linux Mint Debian Edition (which is a rolling release based on Debian testing - whatever that means). Perhaps as a raw beginner at Linux (I only installed LMDE a few days ago) I'd do better to install something a bit more stable. I don't want to base my choice of distro on one piece of software but I would like to do CAD so, as a matter of interest, under which Linux will the LibreCAD Help|Manual function work? Hi - first make sure you installed librecad-doc package, it should be
automatically installed but is listed as a "recommends" which on some systems isn't installed. If it is installed, you can grab the librecad package from Debian unstable. Download librecad (for your architecture), librecad-data, and librecad-doc from: http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libr/librecad/ to an empty directory, then run the command: $ sudo dpkg -i *.deb in that directory. There is also a preview version for Ubuntu (which may also work for LMDE.) Instructions are available: http://librecad.org/cms/home/installation/linux.html LMDE is as good of a distribution as any for librecad, and if you have the package from debian testing then it has been shown to already work. Can you run: $ dpkg -s librecad | grep Version and let me know what the output is? tcc@tcc:~$ On Ubuntu 12.10, LibreCAD Version: 1.0.2 SCM Revision: 1.0.2 Compiled on: May 17 2012, also has no manual. Repositories showed three packages, when searched for LinreCAD, two were installed, third was qcad, which I installed. sudo apt-get install qcad Get:1 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/universe qcad all 2.0.5.0-1+090318.1-2 [3,550 B] But manual is still not there.
