First message on this forum. I understand the way to fill a rectangle is to select it, go to Hatch and check the box marked "Solid Fill".
I tried to do the same with a pentagon by placing a smaller pentagon inside a larger one, selecting each side of both shapes simultaneously, selecting hatch and checking the box.
The idea is for both pentagons to form the outline of a single, thick larger one. The resulting shape was perfectly filled where all but one of its sides were concerned. The final side was half-filled diagonally across its length from the mouse's most recent selection point down to the opposite corner.
Is there a way to fill that final side completely, creating a new, thicker shape? Is there a completely different way round this which can fill an area the width of the gap between two dots on the grid? Or is this half-filled final side of an irregular shape created by the outline of two lines simply a quirk of the software which cannot be circumvented?
