Printing drawing from LibreCad.

Jim Thompson
I am unable to print a drawing from LibreCad.
The printer works fine on any other type of document that I have tried; just not with LibreCad dxf files.

Can someone advise please?

Please try: File -> Export as PDF?

If successful, try to print the generated PDF.

If you are running Windows or OSX, there could be a packaging issue.

Thanks for the reply.
I am able to print .pdf files. I know that much already.
I am using Linux Mint 17 operating system. I only use Windows XP for a couple of programs that Linux does not support.

can you provide more details?

step by step with what happens after "File -> Print"?

Hello all!

I have the same problem - can't print or export my drawings. Ubuntu 14.04, LibreCAD 2.0.8.

file/export/export as image/png makes a zero-lengths file.
file/print/pdf (CUPS) makes pdf with one line. it seems as drawing very zoomed.

now I use print-screen.

what should I do to export/print normally?

Hi,

First, have a look at "File / Print Preview", and adjust scaling, center, etc.

Second, try File  / Export Export as PDF, if you still have problem with File/Print.

If you still have issues there, please upload a test case dxf.

We would like to know how the printing part works, before releasing 2.0.9

dxli, thanks. After setup with PrintPreview all works with pdf. :) It works fine with CUPS, and with "Print to file (PDF)".
Now I can add pdf to my LaTeX documents.

But "export as image" still not works, generates a zero-lengths file. I want a png with 300dpi resolution.

With respect, Alexander.

In earlier experiments I have found out with resulting pixel size over about 10000x10000 or 12000x8000 you get those 0-byte files. So try a lower resolution or smaller "paper size". Or transform the pdf to pixels in an external program.
