On a wider screen (27" iMac) the status bar has a lot of empty space, and it's pretty tall. The screen coordinates are useful, as are the layer and grid info, but the mouse layout button isn't so much.
The mouse WOULD be a bit useful if it illuminated to show the mouse action. It could help people see how their mouse was being interpreted by LibreCAD when they are starting.
But in general I think it would be better if all of the status bar stuff was in movable panes, and could be added to toolbars. There's enough space in my bottom toolbar to combine the status bar info and regain all of that space for the drawing.
