I have just upgraded to openSUSE 12.3.
It was done as an upgrade rather than a clean wipe and re-install, because it takes so long to restore the system to be the way it was. This may have been a mistake. To me it looks like you tried to copy the text from the terminal using Ctrl+C and stopped librecad/gdb. (Cause it looks the same when I do this everytime) Can you please try to run/crash it again and see if you get the same output? "I have just upgraded to openSUSE 12.3. " So the last time you posted the output (old output) you used 12.2 and now (new output) you are using 12.3? Another thing you could try, is instead of quitting gdb after the crash you could try to type bt (it's just a small b and a small t without any space) and hit enter and post the output. If you have no time to investigate the behaviour, due to your job please tell. |

Actually you do not have to do ALL the steps I told you. It should be enought to open a file with librecad and use bt (with current versions of librecad and libdxfrw).
This should be enough for the first step. Could you please use http://forum.librecad.org/file/n5708482/mechtute4.dxf for opening (so you and I have the same file). |

Looking at the file drw_objects.cpp it should not change. Actually it has to be 5 to reach the line 27 in this file. #6 0xb7f26a93 in dxfRW::processTables (this=this@entry=0xbfffda68) at src/libdxfrw.cpp:1826 #7 0xb7f29165 in dxfRW::processDxf (this=this@entry=0xbfffda68) at src/libdxfrw.cpp:1761 The line #7 also does not make much sense to me, because in line 1761 (file libdxfrw.cpp) I can not find a call of processTables. Maybe I don't have the source code (says 0.5.4) of the same version you have installed. Because I did not expect the 0.5.4 version causing a crash when opening a file I think I will first try to install ALL packages you had installed on your machine and see if I can reproduce the crash. (this will tell ALL the repositories you are using) Things I found on the net you could try: #Use: strace librecad in the terminal to start librecad and see if it still crashes. #type qtconfig in your terminal and hit enter -> a window should appear -> set the GUI Style to Plastique or something else and try to start librecad and see if it still crashes. |

So removing this packages from the list we get this: k3b-codecs libdvdcss2 libmpeg2convert0 libode1 libode-devel Because this libs are not for Qt and development stuff I doubt they have some influence on Qt or LibreCAD. I added the vlc repo
http://download.videolan.org/pub/vlc/SuSE/12.2/ vlc-i586 and downgraded k3b to install the k3b-codecs package. Now I have all the packages you also had without these: libmp4v2-1 libx264-125 libx264-128 libx264-129 openSUSE-release-dvd But LCad still does not crash. Time to chip the rust off your debug/trace skills. Could you please install this versions: librecad 2.0.0rc1.git20130625-1.1 libdxfrw0 0.5.9-1.1 And do those three steps and post the (three) created files: #1 librecad --debug 2>LCadout.log now open the mechtute4.dxf file to crash LCad ->should create LCadout.log #2 gdb librecad set logging on LCadgdb.txt thread apply all bt full run -->now open the mechtute4.dxf file to crash LCad bt q ->should create LCadgdb.txt #3 strace -s2000 -o LCadtrace librecad now open the mechtute4.dxf file to crash LCad ->should create LCadtrace |

I suspect that something was wounded on my system - not so much a program file code corruption as a system config settings/data corruption.
