I am a former old school draftsman. I've had years of experience drawing plans by hand on a drafting table. I started drawing professionally about 1977-78. I've had experience using Integrated Computer Graphics & AutoCAD 2013. About a year ago my computer crashed along with my AutoCAD program. As it cost too much to replace the AutoCAD program I started looking for an alternative CAD program. I found LibreCAD. So far it seems to be exactly what I need. But I am still going through the manual and I have found some differences between this program and what I am used to.
I am having trouble with aligned dimensions. When I insert an aligned dimension the dimension line does not off set from the object that I am dimensioning. Rather the dimension line sets right on the object line. I have tried everything I can think of to get the dimension line to off set, but with no success. I do not have this problem with horizontal lines or vertical lines. Can anybody out there help me?
