Alternative to AutoCAD and Civil 3D

For the requirement of AutoCAD Lite, i.e 2D drawings, LibreCAD is OK.

Never used Civil 3D, but still sure you can't find anything like that in FOSS and / or which can run on Linux. If you tell us what you do in Civil 3D, we can suggest something.

For Survey type things, you may have look at:http://www.osgeo.org/

Even there is Plugin in LibreCAD (in beta Version) to read shapefiles.

For 3D, you may look for OpenSCAD and BRL-CAD.

Looks that you are Civil Engineer, and if you also do Structural Analysis, then you may use FELT.
