Changing application preferences for all new documents

BigAl
Hi all,

Coming back to LC after a long break. Running Linux Mint 18.2 64 bit. LC SCM Revision: 2.0.9

Is there any way I can change the application preferences for all new documents? I want to set LC so that snap to grid is off for all new documents. In addition I would like to change some of the dimensioning defaults. Those changes are to increase the gap between the extenders from the drawing and to shew fraction correctly with superscript and subscript.

There is no way (at least I don't know of any) to change the default start up settings of a new drawing. You can make an empty template drawing with your favorite settings and always open that as a start for a new drawing.
LC remembers the grid settings used last time when starting new. At least in the windows version. Not so in Linux?

I have to add, as I just stumbled on this, you can set your favourite template as default start up drawing in Options - Application Preferences - Template. Sorry for the misinformation.
