Colored layers can't print with black lines - good idea?

Maybe I've missed something, but it looks like anything I put on a layer which has a color can't be printed in solid black lines. I consider layer colors primarily to be an organizational aid. Actually printing drawing in color is only something specific industries need, for example building electronics or plumbing where there are not enough line types to distinguish without colors. Architectural drawing very rarely print construction documentation in color.

(Setting the printer to black and white doesn't solve this issue as each color is then given a greyscale value)

So I suggest an option in the Layer Settings dialog to specify that lines should print black regardless of their layer color. It might look like this:


Color:       [ Green           ]
Width:      [0.25mm (ISO) ]
Line Type: [ Continuous    ]

Blacklines: (x)

You simply select print preview, then click in "toggle Black/White mode"

Hi Rallaz, I'm running 2.0 alpha3 and that box isn't always there for me, might be a bug to report. Once you click that button does it stay selected even when you go back to drafting mode and return? Mine is reset to color mode each time.

I test current branch master from git (2 alpha 3+) in winXP and linux and this button
are present, please be more verbose ( I don't speak english).

This button is a "check button" when you click it held down, another click turns it off
like "print preview" button

I think you are right. I think it is there and I simply didn't see it.

But it is frustrating that I have to click it every time I open the
print preview. I think this function should stay turned on after I
turn it on and stay off after I turn it off. What do you think?

Yes, you are right.
If you check "fixed scale" and close the print preview,
on return to preview the "fixed scale" are maintained checked,
but not so the black/white button. I need to fix it
