If I set up a layer to use the standard colour 'cyan' and then hide it, the block which is normally shown to denote the selected area in 'stretch' is also hidden. Un-hiding the layer restores the stretch block marking.
I am using Version 1.0.2, but imagine this might also apply to 2.0.
