Dimension Display

I am having difficulty formatting the dimension line and text. I've gone through all the options I can with no success. The problem is that the dimension line and arrows are attached to  the object dimensioned and I cannot move it. Hre is a rectangle showing the location of the line and text:


I appreciate any assistance.

Activate Free Snap

I had the same problem. Activating "Free Snap" solved it.  Thank you.

You can also try the latest 2.2.2-alpha branch - there the snapping for the dimensions is improved (as well as snapping to adjacent dimensions), plus added support of continuous and baseline dims.
