Drawing preference units

I recently downloaded V2.1.3 of Librecad for home use.  My work background is 30+ years of machine design using Bently Microstation.  I have several issues I haven't been able to resolve.  They involve changing the drawing preference units.  I have changed both the application and drawing preference units from mm to inches.  When I draw, all inputs are still in mm, and when I dimension the part, the dimensions are in mm.  I also have not been able to edit the dimensions.  I have been able to edited text, but not dimensions.  Any help would be appreciated.
