Entering absolute dimensions

The answer to this question must be so obvious I am looking past it!

I want to draw an object with outside dimensions about 1500 mm by 2400 mm.
The Y range on the Libre CAD drawing screen seems to be from about 300 to -200.
Nothing I tried changes that significantly, even trying a paper size of A0 or larger.
So how does one enter the numbers representing the object's dimensions (for example,
a line that is 2215 units long)?
Naturally, one could `scale' the real dimension (with a calculator) by say a factor of 8 and use scaled dimensions to draw the object.
I cannot believe that is not already managed by the software - but how?

Look at the command line! There you can enter the coordinates. If the resulting line is outside of the screen area apply autozoom by icon or doubleclick on middle mousebutton / scrollwheel. For more details on drawing look into the user manual in the wiki. It's partly obsolete, but the main procedures still are valid.
