How do I copy and paste parts from one drawing to another?

So I have parts I want to use use in another drawing.  I select the lines I want to move, they become "selected" dotted lines, I press command C or use the menu Edit -> Copy the go to a differe libracad tab select a layer the press command V or use the menu Edit -> paste and nothing is there

You probably have missed to specify the reference point. Watch command line.
