How does "Align" plugin work?

karpsj
Hello all,

I am trying to use the align plugin to align a few objects. I need documentation or a discussion that explains how to do it. I have searched the internet for 20 minutes, played around with it for 1/2 hour, but couldn't figure out how the plugin works.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

From the 2.1.3 manual https://wiki.librecad.org/images/2/20/LibreCAD_Users_Manual_2.1.3.pdf page 37:
Aligns entities or text with similar.  The cursor changes to a hatched cross and the command line says:
 Select objects; (select one or more [window] then press enter key).
 Select base point (from previously selected objects).
 First target point (snap to proposed grid point etc.)
 Second base point (other 'end' of original location entity)
 Second Target point (moved to selected position)

Do not forget to close the selection with enter.

Thank you very much.

However, when I follow these instructions, I get unusual results...

I just tried to align the top horizontal lines on three objects.

Here is what they look like before and after the align operation.

Thanks!

It seems you expect something different from Align than it does. It's purpose is to adjust the angle of entities to the angle of an other one.

If it's this you want
 or
you have to use Move or Stretch.
