How to center and zoom easily when starting a new drawing ?

Am I missing something ?

I use libreCAD for drawing small parts, usually less than 12 inches in size.

Every time I start LC for a new part, I spend a couple minutes manually zooming and recentering the grid to get to the right zoom level for my part.    Is there an easy way to do this ?

It helps to open a template containing a paper-sized rectangle as a border. Autozoom will zoom it right then, it even should open up properly. You can delete that frame later if you don't want it.
