How to delete multiple layers in one shot

Very cool program.
 I need to convert a dxf file to a single layer.  Model is made in one software, converted to dxf and then I need a simpler file to convert to gcode from dxf.  My problem is that when the file is converted it ends up with 200 plus layers.  All the info I need is in one layer.  Is there a way to delete multiple layers in one shot? Is there a way to select just one layer and copy to a new file.  Thank You for any help you can offer.

U could try to:
1. hihde the layer you want to keep (press the eye icon for this layer)
2. Select->Select All (Ctrl + A)
3. Delete (press Del key)

you should still have the layers but they should be empty
