How to use Window Zoom in the middle of a Modify

I need to do a Window Zoom after specifying rotation center. Here are the steps I am doing:

1. Select the object to rotate
2. Select Modify > Rotate
3. Specify rotation center by clicking
4. Clicking Window Zoom and zoom in on area where I want to specify reference point

At this point I am stuck. I can't get out of Window Zoom without also abandoning the rotation.

What I want to do is stop Window Zoom and return to the middle of Modify Rotate.
I'm on a Mac.

It doesn't work. Maybe a case for a github issue report / feature request.
I recommend to use mouse wheel zoom instead with mouse pointer at the area of interest.

Mouse wheel zoom is a good solution to the problem.
