Import to Blender (2D to 3D)

benito
Hi together,

I am using LibreCAD since 1 Week and totally loving it.

After making a little 2D drawing with libreCAD I want now to import the file to blender to creat a 3D model with blender.

Actually, it should be very simple:

1.) Export the file as SVG in LibreCAD
2.) Import the file into blender
3.) Change the unit of measure in blender in cm (metric)

But unfortunately, in Blender, all units of measure no longer match the original LibreCAD units.

In blender, my drawings are now waaay too big or faaar too small.

Shold not a line of 36cm in LibreCAD be a line of 36 cm in blender too?

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help

hello again,

I have now found a possible solution.

Install in blender a addon so you kan import dxf files

You can find it  here
https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Cnd/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Import-Export/OLD_DXF_Importer

With the import as dfx file into blender now the cm dimensions were correct and 1:1 like in LibreCAD

BUT
a major disadvantage is now that all layers are imported in blender.

Therefore for example, with the import in blender as dxf file the lines for orientation out of LibreCAD were also imported
