Hi everyone, Iam writing to give some advice, what do you think?
1) I found that essentially Librecad uses only one kind of quote style: the arrow. This quote is good for mechanics works, but is not suitable for other drawings, for example buildings. Is it possible to have some kind of quoting style? For example, freecad has arrows, points, oblique lines etc, do you understand? 2) It would save hours of work to create a button that allows to attach lines directly to the most used snaps, for example middle, end and center, so when you go near the point of snap it is automatically selected that snap and you attach the line with a click. 3) It really would be great to simplify the drawing of lines without go to select the command line and type the lenght, but type it directly as you give the command. E.g.: click the command "line" (horizontal, vertical, whatever it may be) and type direcltly. 4) MOST IMPORTANT: too many dxf files are not opened by this program, it would cool to fix this issue, but I know that you're already working on the dwg compatibility, so probably you're already coping with this problem! What do you think guys??? CIAO DALL'ITALIA!!! ;)
...the problem is not the problem, the problem is your aptitude about the problem...

Simple "standard" quote style can make the job for almost any drawing. > > 2) It would save hours of work to create a button that allows to attach > lines directly to the most used snaps, for example middle, end and > center, so when you go near the point of snap it is automatically > selected that snap and you attach the line with a click. > - Some improvement have been made, and now LibreCAD remember the snap setting. I think further improvement can be to move the snap tool bar from the CAD tool bar, to the standard tool bar, to make it always available, and also avoid the infamous "Hey! You have to select the snap and click [continue]" in sequential CAD tool bar. This step is often totally useless and slow down the drawing process. > > 3) It really would be great to simplify the drawing of lines without go > to select the command line and type the lenght, but type it directly as > you give the command. > E.g.: click the command "line" (horizontal, vertical, whatever it may > be) and type direcltly. > - This is not the way LibreCAD user interface has been designed. Dear Claude,
You have been very kind! I just suggested inspired by my issues of work. I totally agree about dxf compatibility! But at least It would be nice put at least building style arrows (in general oblique lines or dots)!!! Eheheh! But seriously, I think this little addition could make Librecad looked as a real alternative by a larger number of professional worker (I work in building sector and here in Italy I notice that kind of quote is suitable just for mechanicals drawings). Best regards!!! Ciao!!!!

I just want to add another four issues which I have found during daily work:
-The command line cannot be accessed by pressing the space bar like it was in QCAD -After setting the relative zero point during a drawing action (e.g. drawing a line), the info text left to the command line still shows "Set relative Zero" although the next mouse click specifies the next point -When changing the paper format from portrait to landscape, all modified positions of dimensioning texts are reset to standard position -Dotted ellipses are not shown correctly, with certain zoom levels they are just shown as very sparse points Regards, Martin |

I do not know why the hotkey for activating the command line in LibreCAD, is different from the one used by QCAD ([Space]). > > -After setting the relative zero point during a drawing action > (e.g. drawing a > line), the info text left to the command line still shows "Set > relative Zero" > although the next mouse click specifies the next point > -When changing the paper format from portrait to landscape, all > modified > positions of dimensioning texts are reset to standard position > -Dotted ellipses are not shown correctly, with certain zoom levels > they are > just shown as very sparse points > - Please, could you create bug reports for those problems, in the Sourceforge LibreCAD bug tracker, below: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=342582&atid=1433844 Claude |
I have added bug reports:
