Layer list in latest version cannot be reduced in size

I have reverted to an older version because on the newest update the layer list takes up 1/4 of my screen and cannot be reduced.
I am not sure why you would need so much space for layer names.

Was working fine in 2.0.6 now not working in 2.0.7 ??

You can build from source or download the latest Nightly build for Windows.
