LibreCAD Icons

Red-Cat
To obtain all tool icons used by LibreCAD I downloaded the "librecad/res/icons" folder from https://github.com/LibreCAD/Resources. I extracted all SVG files from the folder and found 9 of them associated with Snap functions. My version v2.2 of LibreCAD shows 10 snap function icons at the bottom of the screen. One of them, "Snap Middle Manual", is missing from "librecad/res/icons" folder.

Can anyone suggest why that is, and how to obtain the icon for "Snap Middle Manual"?

Are other icon images likely to be missing from the "librecad/res/icons" folder?

Hi,

I suppose all icons are in the sources
https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD

You can clone them with git or instead download them from the green "code" button then select "Download Zip"

Alternatively you could explore the "Desktop"  directory with your browser and download from there.

It's a matter of choosing the correct branch (version).
investing less than half an hour into Search function can save hours or days of waiting for a solution

I did download the source from https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD (I clicked on the green "code" button there, then selected "Download Zip") - but I couln't find the icon for "Snap Middle Manual" in the Unzipped files.

@LordOfBikes
I used the Search function as you suuggested, but the only post I found containing the phrase "Snap Middle Manual" was mine. With regard to your suggestion to choose the correct branch (version), how do I ascertain which is the correct one?

all icons are in sources, for master branch (under development) - they are located there:
https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/tree/master/librecad/res/icons

Snap middle icon is there
https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/blob/master/librecad/res/icons/snap_middle.svg,

Snap middle manual - https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/blob/master/librecad/res/icons/snap_middle_manual.svg

Just curiuos, why do you need to access icons?

Actually, in 2.2.2-alpha you may use you're own icons that are external to the applicaiton (as well as change icon colors). More details how to do this are there https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/pull/2078

@Sand1024

As a result of your advice I now have the Icon for the "Snap Middle Manual" icon.

In answer to your question, I'm a CAD novice so I turned to the LibreCAD manual at https://docs.librecad.org/en/2.2.0_a/

Although the Snap Middle Manual icon appears in the LibreCAD window the manual doesn't even mention the Snap Middle Manual tool. I was writing a short Aide-mémoire about it for myself.

A search of everything at https://docs.librecad.org/ failed to find any reference to "Snap Middle Manual".

Do you have any pointers to information about that tool?

Thanks for your helpful advice.

well, unfortunately the manual is significantly outdated - at least, for 2.2.2 branch and probably 2.2.1.x

snap middle manual allows you to perform snap to middle point of line, defined by two points.
I.e - let's imagine you need to enter second point of line.
1) you press "snap middle manual"
2) specify first point of snap line
3) specify second point of snap line
4) after that - actual snap will be performed to the point, which is middle line between point 2) and 3).

Practical usage- snap to center of diagonal of rectangle and so on .

That's really helpful. I'd no idea the online manual was out of date. That explains why Snap Middle Manual is not mentioned in the manual. Thanks for explaining how the tool is used.
