LibreCad as Medical software

Hi!

Is it possible to use LibreCad similary as mediCad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMaxzidxsIo
I can put X-ray as background - use reference marker to recalibrate measurements (millimetre) and make transparent implant templates to move it on X-ray.

How could it possible with LibreCad or maybe some other Cad software what could be cheaper than expensive medical softwares?

It is possible to use LibreCAD, but with issues.
You can place a bitmap image on a background layer, and draw and place and move CAD entities on layers above the image.
But LibreCAD has the issue that if you want to select an entity/line with the mouse for some CAD operation, always the image underneath will be selected instead. There are workarounds, but it makes things complicated. You can't just drag an implant template with the mouse to a desired position.
You might give it a try to see if it suits your needs.
QCAD , of which LibreCAD is a fork and similar, does not have this issue. It is not Open Source, but not expensive. There is a free community edition with some limited features.
