Line Weights in Inches?

I've been trying to increase line weights/widths to make printouts more legible.  Drawing units are set to inches.  In the part below, the heavy line is .062" below the lighter line.  I tried changing the line width to .05 mm but it looks like .05 inches.  I tried resetting drawing units to mm instead of inches but that didn't help, either.

What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?  As-is, printouts are illegibly light.
