New User, looking for a way to draw simple 2D templates for cutouts

I am trying to make some simple templates for cutting out a panel for electronics (i.e. plug, LED, other component holes in a panel). I have limited CAD experience, though I have used Visio to make diagrams in the past. Not really the same thing.

Anyway, I am introducing myself because I know I have questions on how to do things. I will try to put those questions in the appropriate forum categories.
