Open Contour?

milwiron
Hi All,
I drew a simple part to have quoted by an online laser cutting company. I uploaded the .dxf file to get a quote and I got an error message that I have "Open Contours". All the fillets and radii were formed with the fillet tool. I did a search and found that having an open outline would not allow Hatching. I tried it and Hatching is a not a problem. Am I stupidly missing something? Can anyone tell me what I need to look for? Attached is the file.
Thank you,
Denny

There is a small line fragment, 0.0625 long, at X6.25 Y-6.25.

Use Auto Zoom, then usually the drawing is centered in the drawing area.
In this case, the drawing it aligned on top because of the line fragment which is at the bottom right after auto zoom.

After deleting this fragment, it may work.

I looked and looked, that was it.
When I selected the part with the curser I could hatch it but couldn't with the "select all"  option. That was why. No more open contour for the online quoting.
Thanks again,
Denny

An important information missing in your first post
But no problem, you're welcome.

When hatching failed, you had this information in the command history box:
Hatch failed due to a gap=5.57968 between (5.8125, -0.625) and (6.25, -6.1875)
The second coordinate is from the fragment in your case.

This pair of coordinates differ only in hundredth or thousandth usually, when lines don't match exactly.
So the region where the problem is could be located easy with this information.

Hi Armin,
When I first posted I hadn't tried Select All, only the cursor. Lesson learned.
Thanks much,
Denny
