Questions for a New LC user. Layers, Print window, Help files.

This post was updated on .
Hi again.

I'm new with LibreCad but I like how it is. Seems a good project and works fine.

I have used a little bit Autocad, so some times I try to do the same way on LibreCad. and maybe that's my problem... :)

There is my questions.

- Any kind of Help file? local or online.
I have the v2.0 but if I go to Help menu an then Manual, oops! LibreCAD says :
...."Bugger, I couldn't find the helpfiles on the filesystem"

- It's possible to move parts of a draw from a layer to another?
If I'm drawing things and suddenly I want to separate then on differents layers, I don't know how to do it.
I have tryed with cut&paste but I'm not able :(

- If we only want to print a part of the draw, there is any kind of print window?
or we must to move the paper under Preview print?

Thanks and sorry if this questions are answered on a help file...

Hi EricP,

First, we don't have a help file/user manual yet. We call on our willing users to help building our wiki/knownledge base, and eventually, a user manual, help file. I feel we should put this message as a placeholder before a user manual help file is available.

To change layers for entities: select entities, user main menu: Modify -> Attributes to change layer, color, line type, line width.

To the print preview action needs some improvement. Currently, you can draw the paper around, zoom in/out, auto fit, etc.  have a look at this bug report: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3513455&group_id=342582&atid=1433844

Please help LibreCAD development by reporting bugs and feature requests.

Thanks,

dxli

Do you think we should change that announcement? Perhaps with a link
to the wiki and ask users to contribute when they click on "help"?

Thank you by the answers.

More I use LC more I feel comfortable and more I like how it is. Congrats.

I'm Using Librecad V2.0 alpha3 Compiled on: Apr 16 2012 Under LUBUNTU.

Maybe It will be a good idea to put a Link to the wiki and replace "Help" by "Help Online" like GIMP does.

I will try to help as I can reporting bugs and requesting features.

Good work !!!
