Is it possible to select objects below objects e.g. overlapping lines?

Best regs.

Hi,

it depends on the drawing order. If one line is totally overlapped by another and the smaller one was drawn last, it is not possible to select the smaller line.
Draw the smaller line first and then the longer one, then you can select the smaller one by clicking on the overlapping area and the longer one by clicking on the none overlapping parts.

Best solution for overlapping items is to place them on separate layers. Then you can set the layer with the overlapping item invisible to select the overlapped item.

speaking only as a novice user and not even a 'designer' i've found that these
methods helpful.

first if the unwanted lines (objects) are on another layer -- shut that layer off.
if that isn't the case, you have to select all, or until you get the one(s) you want
and then start deselecting the ones not wanted. button-down and drag can be
helpful in selecting only a wanted short line overlapped by a longer line. selecting
at a lines end points can also be helpful.

also note that i've found it very hard to select and then deselect 'points' especially
if they overlap. identical overlapped lines (objects) on same layer can be removed
one at a time -- if the last remaining one is 'wrong' just alter it's parameters to
the correct ones.

best of luck

Thank you for suggestions.
I will try to vote for selection box function when selecting multiple objects - it's really useful when lots of objects are overlapping e.g. blocks etc.

the lastest LibreCAD always draws layers by alphabetic order, to allow user more control by choices of layer names without extra GUI implementation
