Switching from DraftSight and AutoCad to LibreCad.

Hi! I have used 2D cad for many years, mostly for own reasons. I'm now trying to understand LibreCad. Two questions popped up immediately. How can I use my earlier drawings (DWG and DWT)? How can I hide a layer?

To hide a layer, enable Layer List (Widgets => Dock widgets >),  eye symbols enable or disable layer from viewing.  Tool tips help too.
