Trimming a freehand line

Hi folks,

I have a question to a common thing. I want to create a drawing with local section (just like the attached picture). You use a freehand line with hatching inside. But how can I trim the freehand line? I tried several modifying options to cut or extend the freehand line, but nothing seens to work.

After a quick check, it seems you are right. The freehand line command produces a polyline, which does not react to trim. There is a 'trim segments' command in the polylines tab, but this works only with segments of the same polyline. A workaround is to dissolve the polyline with 'modify' - 'explode' to single lines, a bit tedious though.
