Unable to see imported jpeg image

JimOfCR
Version 2.0.8 on Win7 64-bit

File -> Import -> Insert Image

I have imported a jpeg image of a house design into a new, empty drawing. I cannot see it. I have searched the entire drawing area. All I can see is the origin: red cross hairs

I converted the jpeg to tif and imported it. I still cannot see it.

According to the messages appearing, the imports are successful.

It is not in Draft mode.
There is only one layer: 0
The layer is visible.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to place it in the drawing area by clicking somewhere.
I was able to import a jpg.

Tip: double click the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) to "Auto Zoom".

Thanks for your response, ravas.

I did click to position the image, several times. I also tried drawing a selection rectangle on the chance that the image would be sized to fit into that rectangle.

I'm wondering if I have another scale issue. Maybe the image is too small to see, because the drawing is too large.

Ok. I just tried it again while writing this reply - with the tif version and it worked. I did use your tip about zooming with the scroll wheel. Maybe that is what helped.

Thanks again.
