Unwanterd Circle

When I went modify->properties & clicked on the top line to the left & chose dashed, I got a bonus a circle & a line shown on the image. Why did this happen? How do I delete it?

No idea. You can't delete it? What does Properties say it is?

When I click on Tools->Modify->Delete selected. It says it's an arc, but won't delete it.  By the way, thanks for all the help.
