What is the LibreCAD Splash Window

kent
It is listed in Edit/Application Preferences.  What is it?

I have searched the User Manual, Googled it, turned it on and off, hovered the cursor over it hoping for some explanation..  I still have no idea what it is.

ravas - thank you for the link - now I know.

Should this be explained in the User Manual, for the elucidation of other newbies?

My LibreCAD takes three seconds to load, and it then takes one second for my drawing to load.  Now that computers have got faster, isn't a Splash Screen for LibreCAD just un-necessary padding?

I think the splash screen is nice to give credits to the people involved and show the license of the code.

I think we should keep it for this reason.

@Ravas or any other developer that committed code to LibreCAD, feel free to add your name here.

In 2.1.0 I moved it to a new "Startup" section. The text now reads: "Display loading screen".
