Why are non printable layers defaulted to construction layers?

atxahzen
I've been working on a template for use with sewing. After some time, I've figured out how to get metrics to show up correctly in inches + quarter inches + 1/8th inches, on the screen, and to print out to size to PDF.

To do this, I've created a ruler using fractions and drawing parallel lines by distance.

The issue that I'm running into is that I don't want the ruler printed ( It throws off being able to print 1:1 ), and I don't want the ruler to be a construction layer. ( That puts too much noise into the drawing. )

Seems like it would be a simple fix not to force non-printable layers to be construction layers. Any chance on getting something like that in? In the meantime, I have to re-disable the construction layer tick after printing each time I want to see the ruler. That's kinda sub-optimal.

Hi,

Invisible layers don't print too. For non printable possible use this too.
