distance point to point

It would be useful for me if the 'distance point to point' tool had an option to always copy the distance value to the clipboard after using the tool.

It would also be useful if there was a command for distance point to point.

Or perhaps store the last distance value in a variable which can be copied to clipboard by pressing a button, hotkey or entering a command.

Because selection will only be used for copying in the commandline output,
the most simplistic approach is to have selection copy.
This allows us to skip two clicks. ;D
