since you mentioned a scale of 1:100, it might help to play with the scale setting in the hatch dialog.

The hatch pattern is first scaled before being used to fill the hatching area. If the scaled pattern is much larger than the contoeur, there's not much left to be shown within in the contour after trimming. If the scaled pattern is too small for the contour, the pattern is duplicated to fill the contour, and if the number of duplicates is considered too large (100x100), hatching would be skipped.

I'm wondering whether it helps to show the hatch as solid fill in this case.
