Is there any work being done to modify the behavour of the rs_actiondrawline method?

Background:

As a professional user of AutoCAD and a hobbiest tinkerer i find myself using cad 7 days a week.
At the moment i use draftsight at home, however, due to the closed source of the application i would like to use LibreCAD instead and extend its capabilities using a CAM plugin.

I currently find it difficult to draw quickly using LibreCAD due to its operational differences to other cad applications and i was looking to make some modifications to suit my needs.

Changes:

I was hoping to make some changes to the rs_actiondrawline file to make the method behave more like what i am used to. i.e

case: click line icon -> first point -> enter length

Before i rush into it i was wondering if anyone else was working on the use of this command?
