Would many people be interested in adding another user-settable variable to the Edit->Application Preferences... dialog to allow control of the direction (polarity) of zoom motion.

As an example, run Google-Earth and play with the function:

    Menu -> Tools -> Options... -> Navigation -> Mouse Wheel -> Invert mouse wheel zoom direction
