Hi and thanks for reply

When " saving " a new drawing a message says----"cannot save---please check file name and permissions."

When  transferring existing drawings to an external drive  (thumb drive ) using "SAVE AS " the DXF drawing is passed through Qcad which is an older drawing download on my computer.
I am not sure about  trashing  the Qcad download.
