SolidWorks has a wonderful trim option.  Swipe to trim.

Click the Left Mouse and "drag" across the line segment to remove.  The "section" will be removed based on either:

* The first intersection point in both directions.

* The end of the object in one direction and the first intersection point in the other.

This is REALLY useful when you have a line that you want to trim out a "center" section when the line crosses a lot of other objects.  It eliminates the added step of having to "Divide" the line.
