(I've checked the Forum and the User's Guide, but no joy.)

I've got a drawing and I've made some tweaks, and I selected Trim Segments from the menu to clean things up. I'm prompted to select the polyline to trim, but I can't select anything, either by clicking on the line or by dragging left or right. I have a 2-button mouse with wheel, and the little action window at the bottom has a green indicator for a middle button. Do I need a 3-button mouse? I feel silly posting such a basic question but I just can't punch past this one. Thanks!
